THT (Training in Hospitality & Tourism) is an organisation focused on delivering hospitality training to staff in order to achieve exceptional service for guests and clients. We are dedicated to improving service, quality and critical skills which is noticeably lacking in the industry. Understanding that success in the hospitality industry is based upon what you invest in your staff, we aim to provide all trainees with the tools to excel in their roles.
Exceptional training delivers exceptional service.

Our training is focused on assessing the needs and delivering the skills and knowledge suitable to ensuring exceptional customer service for hospitality and tourism associated industries such as, Hotels, Resorts, Private Clubs, Restaurants, and Restaurant Openings. We were very impressed with the facilitation skills and the outcomes that Celeste Jacobs enabled us to achieve. THT provides each trainee with a professional training manual along with guidelines to assist them in their role. Two follow up field visits will be performed to observe and mentor the trainees as required with further guidelines given to clients and trainees. Identifying skills needs in the workplace by doing field observation visits. We adopt various methods of training to ensure that the sessions are not only theoretical concepts and principles but contextualised for practice. Sessions are participative, making use of role play and other psychologically motivation methods, exercises, group work and question and answer sessions. To assist these individuals, we have on offer a number of job specific courses aimed at assisting new members to enter into the industry with confidence in their skill. THT are proud to announce our next group of students that have worked hard and are now competent in the unit standards they studied. It was great being invited back to Brazil to do Tour Leader Training for South American Tours again. These tour leaders work with UK based clients and the company has specific requirements with regards to what to do in the event of an emergency, dealing with significant incidents, dealing with difficult situations, quality control and of course the very important customer service. These tour leaders are all experienced in this field and it was really great working with them and sharing points of views and experiences that they all face in the field. The ETDP Seta provided a list of the main scarce and critical skills pointing out that the education sector is experiencing serious skills shortages. Our course focused on customer service, dealing with difficult situations and compensation. The city has wide tree lined streets and is surrounded by beautifull parks, a legacy of Cecil John Rhodes. Within the city are many examples of early Victorian buildings which are maintained by the Bulawayo City council and landlords as heritage sites. Bulawayo houses the country’s main museum, the natural history museum, a railway museum, the Bulawayo Art gallery, which is housed in a most attractive turn of the century building, theatres, the Mzilikmzi Art and craft centre, good hotels and one of the finest caravan and camping parks in Zimbabawe. Bulawayo is also home to the Chipangali wildlife orphanage and the Kame Ruins. One of Zimbabawe’s major tourist attractions is the Matopas National Park, less than an hour’s drive from the city. There are lion, leopard, cheetah, black rhino; many species of antelope and a large colletion of birds. Our correspondence courses have been so successful and we are so proud of all our students that completed their Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator courses in THT has had a number of students request lecture lead, classroom attended courses, so we have decided that 2017 is the year that we will offer our students exactly what they want. We would like to ensure that all our students get the attention that they deserve, so we will restrict our classes to 6 at a time. This week i spent training some tour leaders at the lovely Zebra Country Lodge.
